District Tardy Policy
A student not present for any part of the first 5 minutes of any class, any period, will be counted "tardy." After 5 minutes the student will be counted absent. Students will be allowed 3 tardies per class per semester. For every tardy after the third, teachers are to assign detention. Habitual tardies (six) will be referred to the Principal. When a student has reached seven tardies, the student will be given ISS or OSS, depending on previous incidents. (The first consequence from the office will be 1/2 day of ISS. The second will be one full day of OSS.)
Bell Assignment
  • Check white board for assignment.
  • Pick up necessary tools.
  • Sit down immediately.
  • Open necessary programs.
  • Read through the handout or book page.
District Unexcused Absences Policy
If a student is designated unexcused they will receive a 73% of the assignment for the day(s) they were unexcused. Students are required to complete all work.
Missing work
It is the student's responsibility to complete all assignments, including those given if they are absent. All computer assignments must be completed in the computer lab either before (5th and 6th grade) or after school (7th and 8th grade). Missing assignments are indicated in Campus with a "M" and are considered a 0 until it is completed. All assignments are important. Every 8th grade student in South Dakota is required to take the technology assessment and are expected to be profecient. There for it is very important that every assignment is completed. Reminder: 5th and 6th grade students must make up their assignments at 8:00 a.m., unless otherwise arranged with me. Also remember, you have class 1 day a week. Therefore, by mid-term I only have 4 assignments to grade and average. One missing assignment will pull your grade from an A+ to an F. Once it is completed, your grade will go back up. You must complete all missing/late work before the end of Midterms and Quarters.
